Yuko and Eric - Calgary Wedding

I'm always very flattered when a couple comes to me referred from another wedding I have shot.  Eric and Yuko got married in Calgary and had planned a beautiful and quiet family affair.  Jesse and I were pleased to meet with everyone and and although we didn't spend much time with them, we could really see how special this day was.  Yuko's family had traveled all the way from Japan only days earlier for the wedding, and there is always something magical I find when two distinct and different cultures are brought together.  One that always remains constant is the joy people express at a wedding.

I think we really captured those special moments and we truly thank you for the great day.

I like to give a special thanks to the Ranchmans Club in Calgary.  I love the feeling of being in such a fine facility with so much history.

    Salima and Ali - E-session

I love the E-sessions!  It's always a great way for everyone to get the nervousness about photos and how to act in front of a camera out of the way.  It's a great chance to meet Jesse and I and let loose a little before the wedding.

We met downtown, near the Blue Plate Diner and slowly drifted through the next few blocks near Jasper.  With the sun shining pretty hard, the tall buildings bring a little shade and wonderful textures to our images and I think we did quite well on this shoot.  Salima and Ali were tonnes of fun and just seemed to be so into each other, which I truly think comes out in the shots and the movie we made.  I look forward to your wedding and enjoy the images you two!

    Enjoy the movie below~

    New Finao Album!!!

I got in my first studio sample from Finao and boy was I impressed.  This Album rocks!  I decided to get one of the larger albums, this one being 12 inches by 18 inches with the Armour cover and Leather binding.  This is truly an album that has to be seen and touched.

    Mike and Rita

What a great day I had with Mike and Rita. On a cool October day we fought through a little rain and blowing leaves and had some wonderful venues to shoot from.

Most of our day was spent in one the coolest new areas of Calgary, Mckenzie town. Mckenzie town is blessed with tonnes of character and has this georgetown type of atmosphere, a photographers dream! After spending some time with Rita and the bridesmaids and a beautiful ceremony we headed straight for Lake Bonivista. Somebody was smiling that day as the skies cleared while we walked the grounds, played with the canoes and paddles and even throw a football around.

Finishing the day at one of the most wonderful restaurants called the Newport Grill. They truly outdid themselves with a picture perfect deck that sits atop the lake and food to die for Mike and Rita were given a reception that they will remember for years to come.

I thank you Mike and Rita and I hope you love the prints!

    Chantal and Mike

What a truly lovely setting!  This wedding was shot at the Winspear and the Hotel Macdonald, and the venues worked out perfect.  Chantal and Mike couldn't have had a better afternoon, with the sun blasting through the clouds we got just the right amount of great weather.  A great bridal party and an easy going couple made this wedding a treat to shoot.  I was also very lucky to have my brother Jesse Nash as a second shooter.  With his background in video and independent movies, he's a great asset and brings a new vision to these events!

A very special thanks to the staff at the Hotel Macdonald and of course Emilie and Jolyn from Nuance Occasions who really did a tonne of work to make this wedding look as fabulous as it did.
